Fees

Our fees for individual therapy sessions are set below the recommended rate set by the Australian Psychological Society, which is currently $300 per 50 -55 min session (click here).

The fees listed on this page are in effect from 1st July 2023, however, may be subject to change. Information regarding funding/rebates provided on this page is for general guidance only. We recommend contacting Medicare, NDIS or your private health insurance provider to confirm your access to funding based on your personal circumstances.

*The initial session is charged at a higher rate as it includes a comprehensive intake, a series of tailored assessments and questionnaires to understand you better and any presenting diagnosis and differential diagnosis, and a comprehensive formulation.

Available Rebates & Health Support

Mental Health Care Plan

You may be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). To obtain both the MHCP and a referral, please schedule an appointment with your preferred GP before your first session with the psychologist. The MHCP provides subsidized support for up to 10 psychology sessions per year.

It's important to note that the Mental Health Care Plan is designed to facilitate collaboration among the individual, the GP, and other healthcare providers, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach to mental health care. This plan plays a crucial role in improving access to mental health services and promoting individual well-being, requiring communication within your healthcare team. Your psychologist is required to communicate with your referring GP during the 1st, 6th, and 10th sessions.

Please email ( ad***@im**********************.com ) your referral and your Mental Health Care Plan prior to your first session and we can process the rebate for you on the spot.

Eating Disorder Plan

If a diagnosing healthcare provider, such as your psychologist, GP, or psychiatrist, diagnoses you with an eating disorder, you may be eligible for an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP). The EDP provides up to 40 subsidized sessions for 12 months from the referral date.

To determine eligibility for an EDP and initiate the process, consulting your preferred GP is the recommended first step. If your doctor is uncertain about the diagnosis, Immersive Psychologists are equipped to provide a formal diagnosis and advice on an appropriate treatment plan and support.

Medicare rebates are available for specific services related to the treatment of eating disorders. These rebates cover sessions with psychologists, dietitians, and other healthcare providers.

Chronic Disease Management Plan

A Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly called an Enhanced Care Plan) may also be obtained from your GP and enable Medicare rebates for services delivered to individuals, however the number of rebates and the amount per rebate accessible under this plan is substantially less than for a Mental Health Care Plan. Private Health Insurance

Private health insurance rebates may be accessible and information about this should be sought from your insurer (you will need to have appropriate Extra’s cover). Should you require item numbers when making enquiries with your insurer, the item numbers for individual sessions are '200', 'I04', 'S04' or '300'. Item numbers for group sessions are '400' or 'F57'.

Please note that private health insurance rebates are not typically available for psychological services when a Medicare rebate has already been accessed.

How to claim private health insurance
We will issue you with an invoice you can use to claim your rebate with your Insurer. We do not lodge claims directly with any Insurers. Please contact your Insurer to ensure you have Psychology cover under your policy.

Cancellation Fees

We understand that sometimes life gets busy and can be unpredictable, and appointments will need to be rescheduled. Our goal at Immersive is to provide quality service and support to all our clients. To maintain efficient scheduling and ensure the availability of appointments, we have implemented the following Late Cancellation Policy.

Late Cancellation Defined: A late cancellation is any appointment that is cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice before the scheduled appointment time. This allows us enough time to offer your appointment to someone else.
Late Cancellation Fee: Clients who cancel appointments with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a late cancellation fee of the full amount. This fee is intended to compensate for the time that could have been allocated to another client in need, as well as time taken by the practitioner to prepare for your session.
Exceptions: Exceptions may be considered in cases of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances. Please communicate such situations with our office as soon as possible.
