About me
With over five years of experience as a psychologist, my journey began with a passion for improving peopleโs mental health in the workplace. I initially focused on helping organisations implement psychological tools to foster employee wellbeing, recognising that work stress can significantly impact mental health. While Iโve transitioned from corporate advisory to direct client care, my background in organisational psychology now deeply informs my therapeutic work, helping clients navigate both personal and professional challenges with greater resilience and self-awareness.
As a Psychologist providing therapeutic care, I have experience in working with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy. I focus on helping clients identify underlying patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and build long-lasting skills that enhance their overall wellbeing. Each session is a space for clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours in a non-judgemental, collaborative environment.
I strongly believe that while insights and breakthroughs often occur during our sessions, real growth happens between them. My therapeutic process is all about empowering clients to apply what weโve explored in therapy to their daily lives, offering tools and strategies they can use beyond the therapy room. Together, we create a personalised treatment plan that is tailored to meet each client where they are, whether they are struggling with immediate challenges or looking to build long-term mental health resilience.
The client journey with me is not a one-size-fits-all approach. From our first session, my priority is to ensure clients feel heard and understood. We work together to set achievable goals and develop a plan thatโs aligned with their individual values and needs. My clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to provide them with the therapeutic expertise and supportive environment they need to regain their confidence, build emotional independence, and create lasting change.
Whether you're seeking to overcome specific challenges or looking to enhance your personal growth, I offer compassionate, tailored care to help you reach your goals. By working together, my clients often find that they can transform not just how they feel, but how they liveโmoving towards a life thatโs more authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with their values.
Background + special interests
I have a deep interest in all things personality and human potential, which lead to me working a lot with psychometrics in the assessment and selection space. This work ranged from developing, refining and selecting psychometrics for various purposes, as well as administering psychometrics to clients. Iโve also contributed to and disseminated research on large-scale projects in the work design and volunteering fields as Iโm passionate about people having meaningful work where they feel valued, especially in the case of people returning to work after an injury or illness.
Area of Interest
Depression, anxiety, trauma, significant life adjustments, ADHD, eating disorders, autism, relationship issues, menโs mental health, and workplace rehabilitation
Therapeutic Frameworks
My primary vehicle of therapy is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as I believe focusing on the interplay between our thoughts, feelings, body, and behaviour provides a solid foundation from which to examine the areas in peopleโs lives that offer the most potential for growth. I understand such self-examination can be difficult for those going through a vulnerable time however, so I lean on my skills of helping others feel at ease and building rapport, with humour where possible, to ensure my clients feel safe, supported, and understood in our sessions together. Being able to pair this individualised approach to therapy with the top-down, systems-level approach to problem solving I gained from my organisational psychology experience has equipped me with the tools to help clients through all manner of personal and professional problems, meaningfully engage in therapy, and enact long-lasting positive change in their lives.
What do you love most about the job? What drives you?
I love getting to be there for someone while theyโre going through a hard time. When someone reaches out for support, without knowing whoโs giving it or what it may look like, but they do so because theyโve recognised and had the courage to admit they need help, getting to be the person acting as their guiding light during those hard times is an incredibly rewarding experience. You just canโt top the joy of seeing a clientโs progress between their first and last sessions.
Three words that describe you the most?
Curious, silly, thoughtful
What keeps you busy outside of work? What things are you learning at the moment? Interests, hobbies, etc.
I love comedy in all forms but especially standup comedy, both watching and performing. Iโm also keenly interested in the human body and fitness, and am currently working on beginner calisthenics skills at the same time as trying to fix things like muscle imbalances and points of weakness and injury. Iโm always happy to learn a new recipe too, and I started baking my own sourdoughs earlier this year.
Random extra facts: I love animals, travelling, and reading books where I learn something, but also enjoy watching films and TV. Iโm a sucker for good fight choreography so Iโm a big fan of martial arts movies, and Iโve watched some horrendous B-grade movies just because I thought theyโd have great fight choreography.
How do you play?
Humour and making others laugh is a never-ending source of joy for me, so I love being silly and talking utter nonsense around friends just for a few giggles. I also really like being physically active and outside, so if Iโm not going for a hike or playing a bit of tennis, you might find me at a music show having a dance.
