About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist Registrar with experience in working across the lifespan, in both hospital and community settings, where I have supported clients in navigating life and developmental transitions, alcohol and other drug related issues, mood and anxiety disorders, low self-esteem and relationship challenges.

I recognise that the first steps in seeking psychological care can be challenging and emotionally evocative. My therapeutic approach is warm and collaborative, meeting with clients as they are and where they are at in their journey without judgement. I deeply value trauma-informed and neuro-affirmative care, and recognise the innate personal strengths and resilience of my clients that supports them throughout different developmental chapters.

Background & Special Interests
I am particularly interested in the role of early life experiences in shaping present-day coping and functioning. I am passionate about supporting young people navigate the developmental transition through early adulthood, appreciating the value of psychotherapy in providing a secure base in which to explore the unique challenges of this period.

Area of Interest

  • Trauma
  • Attachment
  • Neurodiversity (ADHD and Autism)
  • Developmental transitions (early adulthood)
  • Identity exploration and meaning making
  • Gender diversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming care

Therapeutic Frameworks
My approach is client centred, drawing on a range of therapeutic interventions and modalities inclusive of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy to best need the individual needs and therapeutic goals of each client.

What do you love most about the job? What drives you?
I have always been in awe of the trust clients place in me in my role as a therapist. Engaging in therapy, whether it be for the first time or returning after some time away, is an act of immense courage and vulnerability and I am thankful for the opportunity to walk with my clients on that journey. I am driven by the exploration of client’s worlds, working beyond surface symptomology to uncover engrained ways of being, relating and coping that may leave clients feeling stuck or challenged. I love seeing clients grow in their capacity for self-compassion, understanding and resilience as we transition through this work together.

Three values that you bring to therapeutic practice?
Attuned, curious and authentic

Three words that describe you the most?
Creative, calm and always up for a laugh

What keeps you busy outside of work? What things are you learning at the moment? Interests, hobbies, etc.
I am a (very!) novice knitter, after teaching myself through many a YouTube tutorial during COVID. After a handful of beanies, scarves and bonnets I’ve worked up the courage to tackle my first knit jumper and am looking forward to the challenge of new techniques (and anticipate much unravelling). I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a warm new knit in the office come the cooler months!

How do you play?
Daily movement - whether it be walking, running, hiking, the gym or Pilates – or facilitating my dogs ‘zoomies’ after she’s had her dinner!
