About me

With more than 20 years of experience as a psychologist, I work with adults and couples experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addiction, and a broad range of psychological concerns. I have worked across public and private mental health settings, supporting people from diverse backgrounds, including serving and former Australian Defence Force personnel, professionals, parents, couples and individuals navigating significant life transitions.

A Collaborative Approach

I believe effective therapy begins with understanding the person rather than the problem. Before considering diagnoses or treatment plans, I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, values, and goals. Developing a genuine therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful and lasting change.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based. Whether you are seeking support for longstanding difficulties or a more recent challenge, therapy is tailored to your individual needs rather than following a standard formula.

Experience
Throughout my career I have worked with people facing a wide range of mental health difficulties and life circumstances. This includes many years supporting serving and former Australian Defence Force personnel, giving me an appreciation of the unique psychological challenges associated with military service, operational stress, transition, and recovery.

Area of Interest

I work with clients experiencing:

• Trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, and moral injury
• Anxiety disorders and depression
• Stress, burnout, and emotional regulation
• ADHD, autism, and neurodivergence
• Relationship difficulties and couples therapy (Gottman Method)
• Addictive behaviours, including alcohol, drugs, gambling, and compulsive sexual
behaviours
• Identity, self-esteem, and life transitions
• Men's mental health

What do you love most about the job? What drives you?
I love going on the journey of change with clients. Witnessing the positive shifts in self, emotional regulation, repairing and healing pain, and seeing their personal worlds develop and change outside of therapeutic space because of the work they do in the room. It’s an honour to be able to work along someone on their journey to flourishing and facilitate these shifts in their sense of self, developing a voice, boundaries, and creating the life they deserve and want. I love working with clients on the origins of their current symptoms (anxiety, depression, body image, work stress) through inner child and parts work, body mind connection, trauma processing and understanding family systems -  this can be a powerful and transformative experience and its a privilege to be trusted with such vulnerable work.

What keeps you busy outside of work? What things are you learning at the moment? Interests, hobbies, etc.
Outside of psychology, I have a longstanding interest in sport and remain actively involved as both a participant and a coach. This has reinforced my appreciation of resilience, teamwork, performance under pressure, and the psychological factors that contribute to sustained wellbeing and performance.
